The Women's Health Big Book of Exercises: Four Weeks to a Leaner, Sexier, Healthier YOU!

The Women's Health Big Book of Exercises: Four Weeks to a Leaner, Sexier, Healthier YOU!i purchased this item for kindle and much of it is unreadable because it is in charts that you cannot read and cannot change the size of (i have 20/20 vision) Also i just tried to return it in order to buy the print copy and not be out the 14 dollars but it turns out that you cannot return digital content on amazon. Its only 14 dollars but i am really bummed i cant use the book because i cant see any of the recommended exercises---DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE VERSION OF THIS BOOK especially if it is a kindle program on your phone

Very comprehensive overview of hundreds of exercises that can be done using gym equipment, home equipment (stability balls, dumbbells, etc.), and/or no equipment. The photos detailing each exercise are in full color and the accompanying explanations are detailed, specific, and easy to follow.

The book is broken down into chapters dedicated to body parts: Chest, Back, Shoulders, Arms, Quadriceps & Calves, Glutes & Hamstrings, Core, as well as chapters for Total Body and Warmup Exercises. There is also a chapter on how to put various exercises together for specific-goal workouts (e.g. "The Get Your Body Back Workout", "The Skinny Jeans Workout", "The Bikini-Ready Workout", "The Best Sports Workout", "The Best Three-Exercise Workouts"). In addition, there are chapters dedicated to Nutrition, Cardio Workouts, the importance of Weights, etc.

All in all, this is an extremely comprehensive book that is not at all about gimmicks or shortcuts but is simply well researched and well presented. It will literally replace several books I've bought on this subject in past years. I'm not easily impressed by books on this subject and yet I'm extremely impressed by this compilation. Well done Adam Campbell and contributors!

I bought this book as I work for group exercise at my campus rec center; I was hoping it would give me some ideas for new moves/exercises for my class routines. It does have lots of exercises... but it'll spend several pages with the same exercise just adding different equipment/positions: i.e., squats with weights, squats w/o weights, squats in wide stance, squats in mid stance, etc... each that cover the span of two pages and it counts each as a new exercise. It's great for beginners to sculpting and includes a ton of overview, but not many safety details or progressions (which is essential for any exercises!!!). Likewise, it assumes you have all kinds of equipment: weights, barbell, step/bench, etc., so half the book is useless if you're trying to do this stuff at home. The workout plans in the back of the book are great, again for beginners, but no one should ever really do some of these things without first having gone to a professional to make sure they're doing it properly... overall, it wasn't a waste of a purchase and it's a well organized book, just underwhelming for the very boastful title!

Purchased to do exercise and keep in shape on Kindle. Would Not recommend for the Kindle. Very difficult to follow with chapters and directions. Diagrams very small. Constantly changing font. Certain items even enlarged needed a magnifier to read.

The book is excellent for having colorful detailed pictures of 619 varying forms of exercise movements using weight or strength training. My only issue with the book is that the Women's version is nearly identical to the Men's version. I bought both, one for me and the other for my husband, thinking it would offer something different, because a woman's body is different than a man's and does not lose weight or build muscle at the same degree. I was sadly disappointed. Buying both is a waste of money. The information is exactly the same as well as the exercises, it also has the EXACT amount of pages in each book.

The diet plan section was too brief and did not go into enough detail. The cardio section was dismal at best. Some of the nutritional information was iffy, like High Fructose Corn Syrup being nutritional similiar to sugar, that's a crock. Look up HFCS and find out how they manufacture it. Any synthetic food should be limited, but natural is better thank synthetic, and as the book states both should be limited. But it didn't say any of the harmful effects that HCFS has on your liver and how it's works harder trying to process HFCS. My theory, if God didn't grow it, don't eat it.

What I did like was the exercises, I like how the sections were divided and how it went into detail describing the muscles being worked for that section and why it is important to work that particular muscle group. It's very easy to navigate through and it has exercises to perform for home or for the gym.

I think the price is too high for what they deliver, but if you can find it cheaper than the listed retail price which is 24.99 plus shipping which is nearly $4, I say go for it. But it's definitely not worth 28.00.

I will be sending this book back and keeping the Men's Big Book for my husband.

How to Survive Your Husband's Midlife Crisis: Strategies and Stories from The Midlife Wives Club

How to Survive Your Husband's Midlife Crisis: Strategies and Stories from The Midlife Wives ClubIt is unfortunate that so many marriages are falling prey to midlife crisis (if you want to call it that). Point is our disposable society makes it too easy to divorce. This book is a pratical guide to help you traverse this journey. Not only is the book an easy read and very helful in understanding and keeping yourself in check, it really focuses on learning about yourself and not talking blame for your wayward spouses issues. It helps you be a better you! As well, the website listed is a direct link to others suffering the same things. That site has so much information, one could read for days. There is also chat which is helpful and one bonus is that friends can be made to last a lifetime. This book has it all and I implore anyone in the throes of this anxiety called midlife crisis to read this book and then peruse the site for loving and supportive help. It is a truly a gift to know you are not alone.

Although informative, this book comes from a very negative place. While some men do participate in affairs during their midlife crisis, there are some who don't, as well as those who come to their senses and want to work on their marriages. For those searching for hope, handling the issue with realistic expectations and integrity, I would suugest Jim and Sally Conway's books, "Men in Midlife Crisis" and "Your Husbands Midlife Crisis."

However, the website that is suggested in the book is worth the purchase price many times over.

This book has many sad stories and unfortunately I feel that most people do not locate such books until the crisis has overwhelmed them. How is it that I, a well-read person, knew so very little about mid-life crisis? This topic isn't discussed sufficiently in our culture as far as I can tell. Finding good books is also difficult.

I ranked this as four stars simply because the beginning has typos and plugs the Midlife Wives Club website repeatedly. With some trouble, I was able to access their site but it was so depressing I didn't return. Sharing one's anguish is sometimes helpful, yet, I was more interested in the psychological motivations triggering the crisis affecting my relationship. In my opinion this book did not actually provide that type of information.

What this book does tell you is that you are not alone. You are bound to read the stories of others that are far worse than your own situation and that may give you some encouragement.

If you are considering this book, I wish you all the very best. I would recommend, besides this book, Gail Sheehy's "Understanding Men's Passages" which explains what typically is happening during a man's mid-life crisis with compassion. "What Could He Be Thinking" by Michael Gurian is excellent in describing the male and female brains and hormones; it sheds light on why we think and feel differently, thereby closing that "imaginary gap" that seems to crop up during the crisis. (It was always there because we are simply very different.) Also, "Why Can't You Read My Mind" (a terrible title) by Jeffrey Bernstein was very helpful. It helped me understand the toxic thoughts that I was having (due to feeling emotional pain) and helped me recapture the positive attitude and emotions I had prior to our crisis. Last, I recommend a very heavy read (with a too tiny font), "Love Online Emotions on the Internet" by Aaron Ben-Ze'ev. This is a real study of love, sex and relationships in cyberspace and the emotions behind it all. The author does an excellent job of presenting his information without bias or judgment, but it is very intellectual and a rather difficult read for the average person.

I was concerned that this might be a man bashing book, but it was not. It gave me insight to what is going on with my husband and is giving me the strenght to get through the situation. This is a really good book.

Home Cooking to Cure Cancer

Home Cooking to Cure CancerAlthough the title of this book is Home Cooking to Cure Cancer, if we all follow the authors advice about our nutrition I believe most illness and disease can be prevented.

I have been struggling with what doctors have diagnosed as Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue for years. I even had one doctor tell me that she quit trying to help people like me!!

After consulting with Mr. Harris he was able to tell me not only what foods to remove from my diet but what foods I needed to add in order to recover. Within a week of following his advice I noticed a REMARKABLE change in how I felt. The most encouraging is that I have not had to take ONE pain pill since making changes in my diet! Each day I feel better than the day before noticing less fatigue and more energy. I absolutely believe that I will completely recover from illness and live a long, healthy wonderful life thanks to Mr. Harris. Home Cooking to Cure Cancer should be in every home !!!

Face The Facts: The Truth About Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures That Do and Don't Work

Face The Facts: The Truth About Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures That Do and Don't WorkWhether you want to find out what facial treatments work in your 30's, or are 60 and considering a total facelift, this is the read you need. Dr. Jacono breaks it down to a level that is truly easy and fun to understand. I have been considering getting my upper eyelids done, but it seems that I would get my desired result from an endoscopic browlift. Reading this book has certainly been an "eye-opening" experience. I will definitely recommend it to anyone interested in improving their appearance whether from injectibles (Botox, Restylane) or surgery. I just love the "pearls of wisdom" sections throughout the book. Great read!

This book really summarizes and clarifies the process of undergoing facial plastic surgery in very plain terms. It is an excellent resource for my patients who are looking into facial cosmetic procedures. It not only describes what the procedures are, but explains why certian patients are better canidates for particular procedures, as well as what types of physicians should be doing them. I have purchased numerous copies of this book for my office, and reccommend it on a daily basis.

Herbal Home Health Care

Herbal Home Health CareThis is a wonderful book for parents who would like to use herbal remedies, but don't know where to start. Dr. Christopher's book is simple and interesting to read. He offers information on cause of disease and how to avoid it, wonderful information on nutrition, an alphabetical list of common childhood aliments with herbal remedies, and a section on how to's i.e. how to make an herbal tea, a fomentation, and a poltice and more. I love this book, I find myself turning to it time and time again!

I really like this book. I wish though that the ingredients had the amounts of each written with it. It is difficult to find how much of each ingredient you use in the formulation. I do have a great deal of respect for the Doctor.

This is a very good, informative book. The only problem I had was that it often didn't have the ratios of the herbal combinations so I couldn't make them myself without just guessing at the amounts.

I have used this book for myself and my family. It is a very helpful resource. I first borrowed it from a friend and then had to buy my own. It does not give the clearest instructions sometimes, but if you have any herbal experience, you can figure it out. I appreciate having a book that advises based on actual experience. This is not a regurgitation of some obscure, vague herbal info.

Want Herbal Home Health Care Discount?

Good reading. It has a lot of treatments for different problems. I love his formulas, especially the tinctures and liquid extracts. However they are very expensive. It doesn't seem so since most bottles cost about $10 to $12 for about 50 capsules, but for just about every item you have to take 2 capsules three times a day. If you paid $12 for a bottle of 50 and took 6 a day the bottle would only last you about 8-1/2 days, so I only buy the formulas I feel I need the most. The book is great though and you can buy your own herbs online. I would definitely recommend the book.

Healing Painful Sex: A Woman's Guide to Confronting, Diagnosing, and Treating Sexual Pain

Healing Painful Sex: A Woman's Guide to Confronting, Diagnosing, and Treating Sexual PainHealing Painful Sex is a brilliant book. Beautifully written and easy to read, this informative masterpiece addresses the medical aspects of pelvic pain to perfection. I started reading this book and I had no idea that this medical condition even existed. I hope it gets the right exposure that it so deserves so that help can get through where it's needed most. For someone who is removed (thankfully) from this condition, I still find the book very informative in regards to the biology of things. The chapter on "Helping Your Doctor Get it Right" is good advice all around on how to deal with one's health issues and make the most use of doctor's appointments. Though vaguely aware, I did not know the extent of how much the US healthcare system has commoditized patient care that it's been rationed to minutes, until this book.

Thanks both to Dr. Deborah Coady and Nancy Fish for this very helpful, insightful book.
