The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy: Over 600 Natural, Non-Toxic and Fragrant Recip

The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy: Over 600 Natural, Non-Toxic and Fragrant Recipes to Create Health - Beauty - a Safe Home EnvironmentThe book is filled with some good information. However, There is no safety data for the oils presented. Some oils are not safe to use during pregnancy, estrogen dependent cancer, or may cause skin irritation or phototoxicity (sunburn). Use caution when trying the recipies in this book or research the oils further.

A disturbing section was the one on pets. I would definately do more research before putting anything on a cat. Cats lick their fur and not all oils can be ingested. Eucalyptus is toxic if taken internally. There have been reports of Tea Tree nearly killing cats. In addition, they recommended adding tansy to a horse's feed to treat worms. Tansy is very toxic to horses and cows. People usually try to remove the plant from their pastures.

Last word. Do your research and don't just use one book.

Valerie Ann Worwood's book "The Complete Book Of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy" is one of the most complete and down-to-earth books on the subject, especially for the beginer. If I were to teach a course on aromatherapy for beginers, this would be one of two main texts I would use, as it is so complete. Here writing style is very clear, easily understood, and enjoyable to read. No dryness here. She begins by discussing ten essntial oils as a "basic care kit," and explains how such oils should be used via an A-Z list of common household occurances. The list includes the following as some topics: -Abdominal pain. -Abraisions. -Black Eye. -Bruises. -Colds. -Fever. -Headache. -Hicups. As a matter of principle, she explains at the very begining of the book that the information contained therein is NOT intended to take the place of a Physician's care. Her chapters on Travel, Sports related injuries, and Beauty (3 chapters covering head to feet!), Maternity and Motherhood, Mens/Women's health (seperate chapters), and Aging are exceptional. She closes with chapters on aromatherapy for animals, and gardening; which I have not seen except in a work by Dr. Gary Young. The charts at the end of the book are indespensable, and complete as a ready quick refrance. Valerie's bibliography contains such authors as Belaiche; Gattefose; Valnet, Duraffourd, Lapraz; and Wells; shows that she is very well read as she is experienced. These authors are the very pioneers of the modern resurgence of aromatherapy, and should be read by all who desire to be serious students of the art and science that is aromatherapy. Those who may wish to criticize her lack of litterary sitations should go and read the works cited here, remembering that Valerie has over 25 years of practical experience as a student and practicioner in a country where aromatherapy is taken seriously, and all they will be left holding is empty litterary critique. Better still, they should utilize her book, and let experience speak for itself! My only sugestion for a revision would be an in-depth chapter on essential oil chemistry, and their interaction with the bodily systems. Otherwise, I consider this book to be amoung the best out there on the subject. It makes a great gift for all occasoins.

I think this is a good concise book on essential oils (and I have many in both English and Italian, giving the aromatherapy perspective from England, North America, Italy and Germany). However, I caution you all to ignore Wormwood's advice on using essential oils on animals. Wormwood recommends the use of certain oils including tea tree oil, lavender and others on cats all of which are highly toxic to felines. Before buying this book, I had instinctively known to never use any essential oils on my two cats (I think mainly because whenever I would use tea tree oil or lavender on myself, they would avoid me like the plague). But when I saw these same oils highly recommended in Wormwood's book for use on cats, I foolishly thought that if it's in print, it must be true. So, when one of my cats got an abscess on her hip from a cat bite, I tried Wormwood's abscess treatment using tea tree oil (only a couple drops) on her. She frantically tried to get away from me as I tried to apply the drops and then within about 15-20 minutes, started acting very ill. Thank God I had the common sense to stop the treatment, did a search on Google and found out that in fact, tea tree oil as well as a number of other oils that Wormwood recommends are highly toxic to cats their livers cannot process certain oils and become poisons in their systems. I've even read reports of kittens being killed from low dosage applications of tea tree oil. I would say this is a very good reference book for applications on humans but if you care about your pets, do more research on your own to find out the facts about using essential oils on animals. You might just save their life. If it hadn't been for the dangerous misinformation in the pet section, I would have given the book 4 stars.

"The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy" by Valerie Ann Worwood is a must for every home! I simply love this book. In fact my copy is in great need of replacement from constant use. In 1997 I received a phone call from a man who wanted to know if I could develop a scent that would depict a particular subject to him. Then next thing I knew he was asking me to make some soap for him. A project I always wanted to do, but never ventured into. That led me to learning about soapmaking, which led me to learning about essential oils. Valerie's book was the first one I looked at and purchased along with 2 from Julia Lawless.

Because I knew nothing about essential oils, "The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy" became my mainstay. Eventually, after learning more about essential oils, I ventured into the other books as well. Valerie's book makes learning about essential oils easy. Her book is easy to read, and easy for those like me who knew nothing at all, to learn and understand. This is an excellent book for beginners or those who are advanced in the art of essential oils as well.

"The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy" will have those who like me had absolutely no knowledge of essential oils, using them in a matter of moments! I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning what essential oils are and how to use them. Valerie goes into the usage for home, travel, emergency first aid, and the work place and gives formulas to make your own oils so you can put your newfound knowledge to work.

This is a great book for starting out or for recipes. As noted it doesn't cover the modes of action (turn to Kurt Schnaubelt or R. B. Tisserand if you want that), but it is an excellent book! It starts off with a basic care "kit" of ten moderately priced essential oils. However if you read the WHOLE (unlike those who claim she uses only ten) book you'll find she covers many others. She covers common medical problems (consult a doctor first, of course), beauty creams and lotions, household uses, garden uses, and food. I would research the pet uses first, she suggests giving tansy to a horse which is a good way to end up with a dead horse. When purchasing essential oils always check the scientific name of the plant from which the oils was extracted--otherwise you may end up with something other than you intended (ie. eucalyptus, eucalyptus lemon and eucalyptus peppermint depending upon whom you purchase them from are all labeled eucalyptus, it is the scientific name that distinguishes them) Overall this is an excellent, excellent book.

New Sheets: Thirty Days to Refine You into the Woman You Can Be

New Sheets: Thirty Days to Refine You into the Woman You Can BeBy Norma Gail Thurston-Holtman Bible Teacher, Author, Speaker

"New Sheets: Thirty Years in Thirty Days to Refine You into the Woman You Can Be" by Cindy Sproles is a daily devotional book for women of every age, every stage, and every circumstance of life.

Cindy is a gifted writer and speaker, and an encourager. Her sense of humor sets you at ease and you feel as if you've known her forever. When I read "New Sheets", I got to know a side of Cindy I didn't know, not the ministry leader or speaker, but the real woman who has hurts, fears, and inadequacies just like the rest of us, but has learned to give them to the Lord on a daily basis.

"New Sheets" takes you from the depths of despair to the heights of hope as she shares from real-life experiences, how God uses life, as it really happens, to grow us into the people He designed us to be. It is for every woman who struggles to find out what God's purpose is, or perhaps if God is.

By using bed sheets bought in different stages of her life, Cindy makes you see that God is with you all the time, and will be there for the future. Her humor is based in her own experiences, as are her pictures of pain. From Muslin sheets, as a divorced mom of two little boys, to Supima cotton with adult children, Cindy weaves personal experience with scripture, anecdotes, and biblical truth to lead you through 30 days of growing closer to God.

"New Sheets" is a book to keep for yourself, but buy an extra copy for a friend, because someone you know needs to turn over a new sheet in life.

New Sheets: Thirty Days to Refine You into the Woman You Can Be

I love the smell and feel of crisp new sheets, and the satisfying feeling of tossing the dirty sheets into the laundry basket. Cindy's devotionals give me the same feelings-I will keep her observations and thoughts close to read over and over.

Buy New Sheets: Thirty Days to Refine You into the Woman You Can Be Now

Out with the old and in the with the new, right? Sadly, that's often easier said than done. Sure, it's a cinch when we're tossing the worn-out tennis shoes or replacing the dying the laptop. But what about when dealing with broken hearts, relationships and dreams? Is it possible to simply toss them aside like the aged, yellowed lampshade from the deceased great aunt?

The truth is that life is a journey, and as with all journeys, not every mile will be pleasant. There will be traffic jams and harsh winds, sour attitudes and torrential rain, flat tires and dead batteries. But in the midst of it all, there will also be God, giving us strength to make it another mile and then another and then another. Many choose to commemorate the end of such a journey, but as this journey will not end until our arrival in Heaven, author Cindy Sproles has decided to take a different approach. In her book, "New Sheets: Thirty Days to Refine You Into the Woman You Can Be", she opens her heart and exposes her method of marking each new milestone with a fresh set of sheets. From the cheapest of muslin to the most extravagant silk, Cindy's sheets tell the story of one woman's journey from pain and heartache to joy and acceptance.

What I love most about this book is that Cindy holds nothing back. She bears all, tells all, and explains all. She opens the eyes of the readers, helping each to understand that she is not alone in her struggles. While it pains us to read of another woman's heartache, there also great comfort to be found when we realize, "It's not just me. I'm not the only one who feels this way!" In her own unique way, Cindy displays the disappointment of a life that didn't turn out according to plan followed by a hope that comes from the knowledge that God has a plan for our pain and that He is working all things for our ultimate good.

Written in a conversational style, this book is a joy to read. Whether you need a boost to begin your day or a word of encouragement to calm your mind before bed, "New Sheets" will do the trick. Each of the thirty devotions is short, making it easy to fit into even the busiest of schedules.

Does life have you down? Are you at a crossroads and unsure which way to turn? Have you reached a new stage in your life and fear you don't have the strength the carry on? If so, I urge you to pick up a copy of Cindy's book, "New Sheets". I promise you that you'll not regret it.

New Sheets: Thirty Days to Refine You into the Woman You Can Be, by Cindy Sproles, is both refreshingly simple yet often profound. The analogy that each change in our life can be acknowledged and accepted by getting a new set of sheets for the bed is unique. Sproles takes us through her life's journey of change and how she moved from muslim to percale to pima sheets and she divides the book into three sections based on these three qualities of sheets. Each devotional is short yet often poignant, sharing personal and pertinent experiences of the author. She also draws from various other people and ideas in life. Although the devotions are short and easy to read, they often leave a thought provoking idea lingering in the background that is worth spending time with, rather than rushing past.

This book can be a wonderful and worthwhile addition to your day and would make great gift idea. I'm glad I have spent time with it I think you will, too.

Infusions of Healing: A Treasury of Mexican-American Herbal Remedies

Infusions of Healing: A Treasury of Mexican-American Herbal RemediesJoie Davidow's telling of Aztec history is mesmerizing. When she draws her conclusion that had the Aztecs survived, their herbal medicines would rival those of the Chinese, I was totally convinced. Finding this book while looking for books on herbal tea was a stroke of luck. And, while the Mexicans may have as many herbs in their medicine chests as the Chinese, this book concentrates on about 200 or so of the most commonly found and used. I have always felt that we should make use of the herbs that grow around us instead of trying to grow those from another region. So I was excited to find a book about southwestern herbs. What I didn't expect was how many plants were included that were NOT from the Mexican area or even the southwest. It shows that her research is up to date on what herbs are being used by the Mexicans for medicinal purposes today. Particularly useful is the extensive lists of names given for each plant. Common names vary so much from region to region that it can be difficult to locate the correct herb for the healing tea recipe. Not only are we given several Mexican names for the plants but also the Nahuatl or Aztec name. Almost every imaginable ailment is listed and which single or combined herbs should be used. Easy to use and handy to have this book is also fascinating just to read.

For many years popular North American herbals were Eurocentric. It is enriching, valuable and timely that "Infusions of Healing: A Treasury of Mexican American Herbal Medicine" has been introduced to the public. As an herbalist I welcome the opportunity to broaden my understanding of the traditional uses, botanical names and history of herbs by Mexican Americans, Mexicans and indigenous Americans, among others. Davidow's book is comprehensive, thoughtful and engaging. The style of the illustrations make them the perfect companions to the text. I put "Infusion of Healing" at the top of the list of essential modern herbals for it's outstanding contribution to cross-cultural knowledge of herbal practices.

I am very glad to own this book and will treasure it for many years.

Men's Health Home Workout Bible:

Men's Health Home Workout Bible:This book has everything you need to know to develop a successful weightlifting program without spending $1,000-$3,000 on equipment.

I just got this book in the mail yesterday and even though I got home late, I couldn't put it down. I have been running, cycling and XC skiing for almost a year with the aid of the Covert Bailey books, and I recently brought out my old 80-lb. weight set from Christmas 1985. I was using the manual that came with the weights and a Bowflex training guide from the Internet to develop a workout that reached all of the muscles. I was sure going about it the wrong way.

The book first explains all of the muscles in-depth, even giving examples of motions that show their use. Then comes the equipment section beginning with items you already have in your house (milk jugs) up to thousand-dollar equipment. They help you identify your goals and discuss training plans to achieve them.

The next sections include exercises (beginner, intermediate, advanced) for ALL the muscle groups in your body sorted by equipment type: body-weight only, dumbbells, barbells, and multistation-machines. If you have a combination like me (body weight, dumbbells, barbells investment of $250) there is a chapter on using them together. At the end there are actual charts of exercises for you to use. I am putting together a program for myself and am looking forward to increased effectiveness in my weight training.

This book gets high marks for making explicit what its goal is -home workouts -and then delivering on that. While the focus is on home workouts, it offers enough information to be useful as your primary workout book, regardless of venue. The authors offer divide the exercises into major sections, depending on what kind of equipment you have at your disposal: no weights at all (i.e. use bodyweight only and makeshift weights from things found around the house), dumbbells, barbells, and exercise machine. This is great because it makes it easy to come up with a temporary workout plan for that week you're on vacation and don't have access to your normal equipment. They tell you how to create a workout plan, taking full advantage of periodization. They include tons of exercises for you to pick from when constructing your plan. If you don't feel up to creating your own plan they offer several pre-made ones with different focuses.

It isn't perfect, however, there is certainly room for improvement. When discussing individual exercises I wish they did a better job of showing how the variations affect what parts of the muscle are exercised. For instance, I think that hammer curls are supposed to work your biceps differently than standard curls but there is no mention of that kind of thing in most exercises. That inclusion would make constructing your own work out routines even easier.

The structure of the book leaves a little to be desired as well. It felt that some things -like whether to work to failure -aren't introduced as early as they should be. The result is you really should read (or at least skim) the book from cover to cover before setting out. A little bit tighter structure would make it easier to just skip to the section you care about.

There is also not much mention of supplements although given the somewhat controversial nature of their efficacy and the target of the book (I would guess that people who workout at home are somewhat less hard-core than those who go to a gym) it is understandable.

Overall, though, this is an excellent resource. It has both breadth and depth, making it a great single-volume resource on working out.

I am not an exercise nut. I am a lawyer and a family person. I just don't have a lot of time to devote to working out, and if I am at my kid's school for lunch, I'll eat the birthday cake and ice cream. I was looking for a practical book that I could use to improve the weights workout I had been doing for several months, but would allow me to spend no more than an hour or so in the gym every day. This book delivered and revolutionized my routine.

When I first got the book 6 months ago, I read through the descriptions of muscle development and the comparative benefits of different types of exercise, ie: Dumbbells, barbells, cable machines and I found the basic information amazingly useful. My lifting routine became much different than the other regulars at the gym and I found that for the first time in a LONG time, I was beginning to notice results. Eventually, I began to notice other lifters drifting away from the machines and towards the dumbbells they began to do routines similar to mine.

Although all of the above made me happy, it was not what prompted me to write this review. Recently, I began to do the exact routines for muscle development that the book recommends. I feel like I have had a shot in the arm. My workouts have suddenly become dramatically more effective. I felt sore in places I had not felt sore in almost a year. My core is intensely stronger and my shoulders, legs and arms are beginning to grow again even at my age and with my busy work and family schedule.

If you are one of those guys who hangs out in the gym talking to your buddies and maybe doing a single set of bench press, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for an intense, full body, healthy workout that builds solid muscle, but is devoid of hype, this is the book for you.

Get ready to move up a shirt size.

Many exercises described in this book are unique in their efficacy of strengthening and their unfamiliarity to most fitness trainers in the western hemisphere. Examples of these exercises that make this book invaluable are:

1Behind-the-knee deadlift (named as "hack squat").

2Step-up with barbell on an elevated platform.

3Overhead shoulder shrugging and overhead squat.

4Jump squat, Good Morning. Power Clean, and Muscle Snatch.

5Bulgarian split squat on a chair

6One-legged squat without weights.

7Exercising with household objects such as a galloon of water bottle and chairs.

Other positive features in the book are:

1One of the authors demonstrates all the exercises in person, which proves his practical experience, with only few flaws such as rounded lower back during dumbbell-Clean and good morning bending. This guy carries the facial features of Al Gore, with his lack of smile and unwarranted seriousness.

2The exercises are categorized in four major groups that simplify their applicability. These are exercises with own bodyweight, dumbbells' exercises, barbell exercises, and Plyometrics and stretches. Each group contains exercises that emphasize midsection, shoulders and back, arms, and legs.

3The book text is simple and mostly accurate, except in few places such as the author's claim that wrist-wraps solve the wrist pain during front-squat. This is bogus. Also, the muscle anatomy chapter is accurate and simple, showing only the superficial muscles. It omits important muscles such as the Serratus anterior, coracobrachialis, Rhomboideus, and lavatory scapulae. The Serratus muscle in particular is very important to know in bodybuilding since it is often paralyzed with lifting heavy dumbbells without warming up through pinching of the long thoracic nerve.

The major drawbacks of the book are:

1The exercise-sequence is flawed and could cause many physical injures. The author does not warn against indulging in extremely intense exercises without proper local warming up of the relevant muscles. Most of his plans start with abdominal exercises and end up with calve exercises. Abdominal stressing prior to lower back warming up could lead to spinal disc herniation. Also, you do not need to exercise your abdominal muscles in redundancy. If you run for example, then your abdominal muscles are already worked out and there is no need to double the work unless you have specific explanation.

2Many exercises are improperly thrown in a sequence that does not sound practical or efficient. The shoulder Press for example is assigned to separate exercise from the Clean, while both should be combined in a single compound exercise.

3Although the aggregation of the exercises is versatile and thoughtful, the author fails to prioritize them according to the frequency of their application. The Clean, Squat, and Shoulder Press, for example should be practiced on daily basis, while the side lunges are for individual needs and only should be inserted when the collateral ligaments of the knees need be stressed.

4The high level of the author's fitness and occupation with exercise diversity may work against him. He could expose himself and others to injuries by such expansive scope of exercises. School students should not repeat such mistake of distractive exercising, but rather learn how to choose exercises with high yield and complex performance.

5All exercises are described at the "Start" and "Finish" phases without any hints on the relevant anatomical function. For example, the author does not warn against caving in the chest while squatting, pressing the barbell off-vertical while performing overhead pressing, or tightening the lower back during lifting from the floor.

Want Men's Health Home Workout Bible: Discount?

This is a traditional, intro pumping iron book for men. The only slight twist is, as the title says, it's for men looking to workout at home, not the club. My wife and I have both read it and this is our combined feedback ("" for additional feedback).

Our 3 star rating is actually an average. I give it 3.5 and she gives it 2.5.

To be blunt, in our oppinion the book is targetted at men with little or no weightlifting experience and are interested in doing a "body make-over" to become the chick-magnet they always knew they could be. To us, it's not a health and fitness book but an intro pumping iron book. If you are self-motivated, respond well to setting a goal and working hard to achieve it, this may be the perfect book for you and might rate it higher.

Positive: We like the honesty by the authors, especially regarding the costs involved in acquiring your own fitness equipment. They don't sugar coat it. The compendium of resistence exercises (half the book)is excellent, a good reference, particularly for men. The book is a good valuethere is a lot of informative content, not like some books we've seen that are little more than fluff and pretty pictures between two covers. The book provides about 60 pages of various progress chart templates to get you started and progressing.

Negative: It's not really a "workout bible." Little attention is given to anything but pumping iron. Again, we're not talking long-haul health and fitness so much as building a beef-cake temple. It seems to be written with the assumption the reader has a fair amount of money and time to burn (some people do, most don't). It doesn't provide much help dealing with the real-world challenge of motivation beyond the first two weeks. We're afraid a lot of people will spend a bunch of money on equipment and then watch it collect dust after the first two weeks of euphoria passes. The misses quickly tired of the macho and sexist writing style. But it is from the people of MENS HEALTH magazine, after all! (She's right. They lay it on too thick for my taste as well). The attempts at humor could also be eliminated.

In summary, a useful book for a relatively narrow audience, or one to add to a fitness library for its compendium of resistence exercises.

Hope this feedback helps you in your buying decision!

Strength Training for Young Athletes - 2EMy son started lifting on his own about 3 months ago. I wanted to set him up with a good workout with the right weight and repetition so he would get the most out of the work out without damaging his developing bone and muscle structure. This book was extremely helpful in that it addresses safety issues, weight determination (maximum lift), repetitions and change ups. I would recommend this book to anyone with a pre-teen to mid-teen. It offers a good alternative to an adult lifting regimen that is not suitable for growing bodies.

I'm the father of a young athlete and a coach. The information in this book defintely dispells the myth that weight training should wait until the teenage years. I look forward to applying the principals from this book with my son and players.

Smart Lotionmaking: The Simple Guide to Making Luxurious Lotions, or How to Make Lotion That's Bette

Smart Lotionmaking: The Simple Guide to Making Luxurious Lotions, or How to Make Lotion That's Better Than You Buy and Costs You LessThis is it! The Best Ever How To Lotion making book you will ever want and need! No more lumpy, heavy, oily "pretend" lotions from other books these recipes all work and are REAL lotions. Once again, Anne has prepared clear, concise, easy to follow instructions that are truly step by step for anyone to understand. There are no hidden mysteries, no contradictions, nothing confusing. I have made a few lotions from this book already, following Anne's instructions, and all my friends are begging for more! Anne also includes very important and essential information on keeping everything clean and sanitized to prevent any likelihood of contamination, a factor that many other sources 'skip' and put in the too-hard basket. She also includes lots of very helpful tips and has a 'frequently asked questions' section at the back. And even best of all, you can actually contact the author if you have any other questions. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

Although I was one of the testers for this book, I had no intention of actually making lotion because I "knew" it was too difficult for me. Why make lotion when I could buy a base, add a litle fragrance and call it my own? Well, I flinched everytime a customer would ask if I had made the lotion that was being offered. Now I can say yes and accept the praises for the lotion I actually make. This book made me want to make lotion!!

As she has done with all of her How To books, Anne writes as if you are sitting across the kitchen table from her as she takes you through each aspect of lotion making. She has the innate ability to anticipate every question that might come up and the instructions and recipes are always very easy to follow. This is a must have book for all soap and lotion crafters.

To get to know Anne better, go to her home page at and see what else she has to offer. Her fiction is memorable. She is the consummate story teller. An all around talented writer.

I have been making my own soaps and creams for years now but always like to see what's new. While the recipes in here are very good, there is nothing new if you are experienced at making creams and lotions. If you have never made lotion before, this would be THE book to get. My favorite one is out of print and I have not seen it sold anywhere.

This book is strictly for making body lotions. No creams or facial products. If you have ever gone to any lotion crafting websites then you will be familiar with all of the ingredients in here. If this is your first time making lotion, Anne describes everything that you will need and why.

That said, you will need a gram scale since they are more accurate and, while the ounces are also given in each recipe, using grams is actually easier. You'll also need to find some e-wax since all but one of the recipes use it. No substitutions are given. I like to use xanthan gum but it tends to make a sticky product. It also happens to be easier to find locally.

Other ingredients that you may need that recipes use are stearic acid, vitamin E, preservative, and conditioning emulsifier, which is also called BTMS. And then there are oils and butters, which should be easy to find. There are a couple of recipes that call for goat's milk and one that uses almond milk. Of course, you could substitute milk for the water in any of the recipes. I made a goat's milk lotion one time and it was incredibly thick. Be aware that adding milk will do that.

Getting lotion into bottles presents its own challenge, which Anne is up for. Follow her directions and you will be bottling lotion like a pro. I use wide-mouthed small jars but I don't sell my lotions and creams. Everybody in the house gets their own jar.

If you want to make your own recipes, Anne covers that in detail. She also tells you what to do if you want to start your own lotion-making business. And there is a trouble-shooting section. Finally, there is a list of suppliers in the back, which includes suppliers in several other countries besides the US. These are the most popular ones.

If you want to make all-purpose body lotions, get this book. You truly will be making anything better than what you will find in a store.

Anne Watson has done it again. Her books are always simple and clear. She has a way of giving all the information that is needed to make a quality product, whether it is soap or lotion yet never making the instructions intimidating. After reading this book, I was easily able to walk into the kitchen and make a quality lotion that I had control of the ingredients.

I have tried several of the recipes in the book and they have all been fantastic. They worked and gave me a nice creamy lotion that when applied was absorbed into the skin in minutes and lasted all day. There is a section in the book on formulating your own recipes and I have done that also. Anne makes herself available by email to answer any questions that might come up along the way. Now where do you get that kind of help?

If you want to have control of the ingredients in the lotion you use and and make a yummy lotion, then this is the book for you.
