This 57 page paperback edition of She-ra toys is well worth the pricey tag that comes along with it-at first i was disappointed with the amount of pages for a $30dollar bookBUT almost every single page is colored-and there are excellent pictures of every She-ra MOTU character including crystal castle and the extra outfits and comic books.

Each of the characters has a page dedicated to themin colorand a SMALL description of each; including what makes them more valuable and variations between year releases. Then there is a box to the right of the picture with a average price for a NIP (new in package), complete (with accessories etc), and loose (the figurine without all clothes/swords/etc). At the end of the book is one page dedicated to the Horde characters (minus Cat-ra & Entrapta who each had their own page). There are not prices for the Horde characters.

Some of the action figures are missing their accesories in the pictures but overall they are completea couple of them shown are NIP as well.

DePino also provides a concise introduction worthy of a standing ovation. I loved this guide and read it from front to back. I would recommened the book to She-ra collectors as well as Children/Teens of the 80s who had anything to do with these charactersa nice item to have and read.

The She-Ra Collector's Inventory is a very nice guide to the Princess of Power toy line. It has a great introduction that gives a history of the Princess of Power (POP) series as well as the Masters of the Universe (MOTU) series. It helps to show how important the POP line was, even though it had quite a short run.

The price guide is excellent; it gives full information for each action figure/accessory/playset, including alternates and variations. Values are given for "Mint in Package", "Complete", and "Loose" conditions. Information is also given on some prototypes that were never released.

Some of the pictures are not the best quality, but they provide what they are meant to provide. Overall, this book is an excellent buy for any She-Ra collector!

What an awesome book! Hillary DePiano has compiled an unbelievably thorough inventory of all the Princess of Power toys and related accessories that were released in conjunction with the She-Ra cartoon. "The She-Ra Collector's Inventory" features an introduction that summarizes the creation of the He-Man and She-Ra toy lines and cartoons. There is a page devoted to every She-Ra action figure that was ever released. In addition to photos of each action figure, DePiano also gives a brief description of each character and the special features of each toy (mobility, accessories, collector's pricing guide, etc.). There are also photos and descriptions of She-Ra playsets, books, fashion accessories, and other Princess of Power merchandise.

This is an amazing book for anyone who is a serious She-Ra fan. I was a huge fan of the She-Ra cartoon when I was a child and I owned many of the different action figures and toys that are featured in this book. Sadly, most of those toys were lost or thrown out a long time ago, but now I can pick up this book and fondly remember all the fun my sister and I had playing with our She-Ra and Glimmer action figures and the Crystal Castle and Crystal Falls playsets. Those are some of the best memories of my childhood, and now they're all available in this fabulous little book!

Some people have complained that this book is too pricey. I think die-hard She-Ra fans will gladly shell out the money for a book as awesome as this! The only disappointment I had is that the book is almost more like a pamphlet because the cover is so flimsy. Maybe DePiano will consider releasing a hardcover edition that includes info on all the She-Ra DVDs that are in the process of being released.

If you loved She-Ra as a child, you really need to buy this book. It's the next best thing to owning every single She-Ra action figure that ever existed...and how many people actually have all that stuff?! NONE! Buy this book...you'll be so glad you did!

Excellent buy for any type of She-Ra collector!!!!!

The first comprehensive guide I have ever seen on the entire toy line. Pictures for all figures/playsets and accessories. Excellent listing for each figure of complete contents including the comic. Pictures of entire clothing line and even the covers of comics enclosed with the figures.

Descriptions of the figures and accessories help lend insight to the collection for the newer collector, and help for identification for the more experienced collector.

I have been a She-Ra fan since the toys first came out and would highly recommend this book for everyone who is a fan of the series.

"The She-Ra Collector's Inventory" is a nicely done book on the various items that Mattel produced toy-wise for the She-Ra, Princess of Power line. All pictures are in color, although some seem a bit fuzzy. All items are listed, along with accessories that came with them. The author includes price guides for all the items as well. This is a great little book for those starting to collect She-Ra figures or for those who just want to remember some of their favorite toys. I recommend buying this book. It is definetely worth it!

iPod: The Missing Manual (Missing Manuals)

This newest offering from the Missing Manual series focuses on the iPod touch (presumably because it has the most features and the most things to know), but sets aside full chapters to talk about each of the other models (shuffle, nano, and classic). These sections cover not only how to control each device, but also some of the unique ways that you might choose to use them. For instance using the classic as a portable hard drive is discussed, as is using the shuffle as a flash drive and using the iPod nano as a personal trainer. If you already own your iPod you may not use or even read the sections for the other iPod models, but if I was in the market for a new iPod I'd probably look here to help me decide which model fit my needs best.

Once you've settled on a section to start on the book reads very well. The layout is nicely set up to direct you to the information you need. Important terms are often bolded and defined so that even the most novice reader can understand what the author is talking about and follow the step-by-step directions. I thought that some of the directions were more well laid out than others. For example, many of the directions are accompanied by pictures some of which are helpful and highlight the buttons you'll need to press. This is nice and makes learning easy, but some of the other pictures are just screenshots that don't really add to the directions that they accompany. If you are a little tech intuitive (and I mean just a tiny tiny bit) or if you read the entire book front to back and pick things up as you go this doesn't prove to be much of an issue, but I might hesitate to ship this one to grandma in hopes of never having to answer a tech question again.

There is also a troubleshooting guide at the end of the book just in case your iPod isn't working properly.

Along with its coverage of the iPods themselves this book covers iTunes in great depth. It includes the basics like buying and organizing your music and videos, making playlists, and importing music from CDs. It also has some more advanced and niche information like what video file types will work with your device (it also provides software suggestions for converting between file types). Overall the iTunes coverage is very strong (and rather long making up close to 100 pages of the book) which is great because regardless of the type of iPod you have you'll need to use iTunes and with this book you'll be able to get the most out of it.

iPods are supposed to be simple enough anyone can figure out how to use them, yet some applications and navigating iTunes isn't always as easy as one would think it should be, especially for people who aren't gadget fanatics and technology geeks. And those people often feel stupid having to ask someone for help. This book is the answer to that dilemma, that is if your dilemma is specifically the use of an iPod.

More than that though, this book will give you different ideas of what to do with your iPod, and different ways in which it can be used other than the most basic.

I found this book to be helpful especially in regards to its instructions concerning iTunes. It has a heavy concentration on the iPod Touch, which makes sense, but it does not in any way neglect the rest of the line up.

This is a well written, very informative book that most users will find very useful. I've been a Mac user since the very beginning, bought my first in 1979, and have exclusively owned Macs ever since, including in periods when doing so was painful. I'm not an expert, yet am experienced. I learned a number of new ipod related techniques from this book. What "with David Pogue" means is not clear. I gather he helped with editing. J.D. Biersdorfer writes well, yet it clearly seems she is the author of note with Mr. Pogue's involvement being limited, perhaps on the cover to boost marketing? I enjoy David's writing, hence my veiled complaint. All in all, a useful, very practical book full of insight and technique. Highly recommended.

This book is fantastic for owners of the iPod Touch, digging into use of the device in ways that save you the time of exploration on your own. It lets you get past the work of learning and right down to playing.

Overall, the book presents a user manual to all types of iPods and the iTunes program. As a practical matter, however, there is limited attention given to the other styles of iPod, perhaps because they simply don't have the same vast functionality of the Touch.

Much of the appeal of an iPod is that Apple made it very intuitive and easy to figure out how to use. When Diabetes Hits Home

I normally turn my nose up at these psycho-babble type books that pretend to know what it is that I'm going through as a person with diabetes for over 20 years. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book was real. Dr. Rapaport hits a lot of familiar chords, and knows her subject inside and out. She is not patronizing, and her style is clear and easy to follow. I found that I was able to apply her method of positive reframing not only to my diabetes related situations, but to my every day life situations as well. I strongly recommend this book for anyone living with diabetes, for the patient herself, or family, friends and significant others. I hope to see more of Dr. Rapaport's writing in the future. Thanks to her for giving me an improved way to deal.
