One day a girl from school messaged me and told me I needed to read Chicken Soup for the Soul For Nurses (which now I have) she had received a copy as a graduation gift. I went on my kindle app and ran across this book. At first I was like yeah whatever everyone tells you to be positive blah blah blah. However, something inside me made me buy it.
This book is filled with stories of encouragement and self determination. Stories of real people telling you to get your butt off that chair and do something with your life! In all honesty I have not read the whole book because I didn't have to. I thank God for this encouragement that I was unable to find within myself...and very thankful for those in this book for sharing your life with me.
I am now a Registered Nurse! NCLEX (boards) had nothing on me because not only did I study like crazy but I also had the courage of these beautiful stories in my Back Bone! This book goes hand in hand with another Chicken Soup book: Think Positive for Great Health. It's divided into various sections, including, The Power of Attitude, The Power of Persevering, The Power of Relaxing, The Power of Gratitude and many more. It's no secret that a positive attitude goes a long way in helping us deal with many aspects of life. The beautifully told stories in this volume are definite proof of that.
What I appreciate most about all Chicken Soup books is that they're full of uplifting short stories, that you can enjoy reading to yourself or reading out loud to family members or even your students. I remember taking a course a few years back. At the end of it the professor read us a fitting Chicken Soup story which had most of us in tears.
No matter if you've read every Chicken Soup book or never picked one up, this is one you will want put on your `keeper' shelf. We all need a little `pick-me-up' from time to time; this can be it.
Disclosure:
In exchange for an honest review I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book by Shelton Interactive and Simon and Schuster Canada.I think all of us could use a pick-me-up every now and then and this Chicken Soup book does just that. It features 101 inspirational stories from real people all about how they found the good in different situations. As a busy mom of three I love that I can pick this book up and read a quick story (they are 2-3 pages each) when I need to hear a good story! The book features 11 chapters broken down into different sections such as "The Power of Liking Yourself" and " The Power of Watching Others." The makes you feel like you are not alone and that the glass is half full.
I received this book to review in exchange for my honest opinion. With all the short stories you can never tell yourself you are too busy to pick up the book. Read one story or six! Either way, they are all very inspirational and makes you feel more positive and grateful. Great book!I like to read Chicken Soup books.I like to read Chicken Soup Books for they are always positive and very uplifting for me and others who read them.
