The 7-Day Back Pain Cure: How Thousands of People Got Relief Without Doctors, Drugs, or Surgery

The 7-Day Back Pain Cure: How Thousands of People Got Relief Without Doctors, Drugs, or SurgeryThis is nothing more than a long form advertisement. There is NO useful information here. Inversion therapy can relieve back pain. The author would love to sell you one. Muscle balance therapy is also proven to relieve back ailments, if you perform the correct stretches and exercises. What are those exercises? You won't find it here. However, the author has a kit he would love to sell you. Within the pages of this slim book, there is nothing that will help you cure your back pain.

There is allot of information that I knew already and some things I didn't.

The reason I am so mad is the this whole book is an advertisement to make you

buy the $97 DVD and only there he will give you his real secret. So this is

a complete waste of $10.17 and 3 hours of reading to realize that

the information for how to get rid of my pain is not even there. 3 hour of my

time is $120 Dollar mister Jesse Cannone .. David

I am so disappointed I wasted my time reading the first half of the book. When I started reading the second half which deals with the "cure" of your back pain, I realized the author is just trying to sell you his products. Don't waste your money.

Beware if you order this "free" book off of Cannone's website, as I got stuck with a $20 subscription to his back pain "newsletter" which they refused to credit when I called to say it was a mistake! I finally started reading the book and was disgusted at the blatant commercialism and promotion of his own products. The positive reviews are obviously by Cannone's flunkies!

Clean Sweep: Banishing Everything You Don't Need to Make Room for What You Want

Clean Sweep: Banishing Everything You Don't Need to Make Room for What You WantClean Sweep is a very practical and extremely smart book! Based solidly on the classic alchemical elements (fire, water, earth, air, and spirit) and drawing on diverse methods from all over the world (including the spells of magick and witchcraft, the meditations of tantra and yoga, the insights of psychology and science, and the techniques of shamanism and feng shui) the author provides a wide range of powerful banishing exercises covering every aspect of life. From losing weight, fighting off illness and clearing your home to overcoming anxiety, phobias and old traumas, from daily life to spiritual crisis to psychic attack, there are over 100 meditations, exercises and exorcisms that can be used or adapted to clarify, conquer and resolve the issues and problems that challenge, vex and entangle us. Equally accessable to the beginner and inspirational to the advanced reader, this wonderful book distills an enormous amount of cross-cultural information into a treasurehouse of wisdom on what may well be the first important step toward transforming every aspect of living. Very highly recomended!

This is an extremely useful book. I understand now that banishing encompasses far more than "casting a circle" or chasing away poltergeists. Sargent extends the concept to ALL areas of life, and offers simple yet effective ways to shed the barriers to happiness and health. It's really about taking charge, and not being a victim. Humans have free will, and the power to choose what will and will not be a part of their lives. So, really, this book is about empowerment.

I have a friend who complained recently that he felt a strong need to prioritize, reorganize, and focus his life. I got this book in the mail to him the next day. I'm sure it won't be the last time I do that -it is a powerful tool that I am eager to share with others. It helped me immensely at a time when I was foundering and overwhelmed, and I'm sure it will do the same for many others.

Yes, Clean Sweep will help you order and organize your life. NO, it's not just a closet organizing manual. Only the most closed-minded will fail to note the deep respect with which the author incorporates eons of wide-ranging religious and cultural traditions into practical, helpful invitations and rituals. Clean Sweep is a good read. Use or don't use the "recipies" contained in the book, you will still get benefit from the ideas. It is written with great humor and wisdom and contains many worthwhile "ah ha!" moments for all readers. Every counselor, therapist, every person with too much "stuff," everyone who sometimes feels "stuck," and everyone trying to help someone who feels "stuck" should consult this how-to manual for "clean living." Everyone who wants to enjoy optimum living and who believes in taking responsibility for making it happen should read this book.

Smart Packing for Today's Traveler

Smart Packing for Today's TravelerI have been a traveler for 30 years and each time I pack, I make the same mistakes and end up with a sore back from toting to heavy a suitcase, until I read Susan's book. Her packing tips are foolproof..and I admit being the fool! However what helped me the most was her checklists. For example on page194-95, she gives the reader lists of important documents like one's medical history and information on drugs that you take daily and reminds you to make copies of all you take to leave behind with your support person, in time of emergency. Her emergency takealong medicine chest list worked for me and for once I got on the plane feeling competent on my way to Bali that I wouldnt need to see a Doc unless it was a fourstar emergency. Simple as it may seem, Susan's instructions on in-transit creature comforts, page176, saved me so much grief up during my trip. I trashed my vanity and showed up for an international flight sans makeup..and for the first time, I had sense to use lotion, waterspray and lipbalm instead and emerged energized at the end of my flight. Thanks Susan. If you can do it, I can do it. Fly like a Pro that is...

I have bought and read numerous books on packing, packing light, packing tips, etc. No, I'm not bizarrely obsessive, I have just traveled to Europe twice with way too big of a suitcase with far too much stuff in it. After learning my lessons the hard way, I was determined to reform. I bought books from Fodor's, Anne McAlpin's packing book, read websites, and researched packing thoroughly.

This book far and away outdoes the other resources. Susan Foster not only has walked the talk and traveled extensively, she covers everything from how to travel on business in a hot country, in a cooler climate, packing on a cruise, to how to pack for a family. This book doesn't just have the usual tips on security procedures and the like, it actually has illustrations drawn that show the types of suitcases, the pros & cons of each type, what to buy for what kind of trip, etc.

What I found especially helpful were the diagrams that showed how to make 6-7 pieces combine into 10-15 outfits. You know how in the magazine articles they always show a capsule wardrobe and only demo about 4 combinations and then you're dying to know what you're supposed to wear the other 3 weeks of the trip? This one shows all the combos and how to layer for weather.

I also learned good tips on the electronics to pack, good travel companies to use and what you need in your laundry kit to do laundry on the road.

I used these tips on a 3 week trip to Europe Summer '06 and I was thrilled. I managed quite nicely on 3 prs of pants, 2 skirts, 1 pair of shorts, 5 tops and a couple jackets. Also a few pairs of underwear and socks. And I managed to be covered for evenings out, dinners, casual sightseeing and the whole gamut. Great resource, insightful book. I will use this book for years to come as it has chapters for cruises, beach vacations, skiing & adventure travel, etc.

A must-have book for the traveler.

I have been doing what a travel writer lives for traveling. I packed for a three-week trip to France (one week in Paris, the balance in Provence) in a 22" roll-aboard bag plus a small tote. Using all my best tips from Smart Packing, I had everything I needed or wanted and easily traveled by plane, train and very small car. It works! ~ Susan Foster

When I was getting ready for a trip to Seattle a few weeks ago, we were told that the dress would be business casual. Well, since I am working from home, I needed to figure out what would be acceptable. I tend to overdress for all occasions and this time I decided to do research. After reading through the wardrobe sections, I decided to go a step below business casual and it felt right.

So, are you planning for a cruise? Part III: Customize Your Wardrobe is going to save you so much time and you will have more fun shopping for the clothes you will actually want to wear. The words: "less is best" is pretty foreign to me. I pack enough for three weeks at least. Just taking a backpack would be horrifying to me. Yet, this is what some people learn to do while traveling. Whether you are traveling light or taking it all, this book has something to offer. I went with the "One Week Trip, Casual Business Wardrobe" idea.

Susan has divided her book into four main sections:

1. Plan Your Perfect Trip Planning for weather, travel fabrics, packing perfectly, etc.

2. Pack Smart Airport Security, choosing the right luggage, checking or carrying bags?

3. Customize Your Wardrobe Business, Cruise, Adventure, Resort, Sports, selecting clothes for your kids.

4. Travel Safely in Comfort and Good Health Things to do before you leave home, worthwhile travel gadgets, money matters and travel insurance.

Some of the helpful tips included:

How to use a paper shopping bag to make unpacking easier. Great idea.

How to layer clothes so they don't get wrinkled.

Tips for not getting your luggage stolen when going through security.

Saline Nasal Spray Helps you not to get sick from being on a plane.

Tips for traveling with infants and younger children

Take-Along Medicine Cabinet

Resource Guide Lists of online sources for travel clothes, accessories/luggage, publications, organizations.

Smart Packing is more than a packing guide, Susan will show you how to travel in comfort and style. Without this book, I would have felt so lost. This book gave me the confidence I needed to go shopping for the right clothes and taught me a thing or two about packing for a business trip. I still pack too much, but hey I have wheels on my luggage. On the way home, they made me move some items to another bag because I went over the 50 lb limit. Um, oops. Yeah, I went shopping.

This book is an absolute must for those of us who want to take the world along when we venture away from home. My husband and I take 2-3 major trips each year, along with a couple of weekend getaways, and previously always took too much along, returning home with several neatly packed items that had never been worn. I read this book over the summer and used it to pack for an Alaskan cruise in July. The chapters on choosing the right clothes and being prepared were especially helpful, and with them I managed to put together a versatile and functional wardrobe for both 80 and 45 degree days...and we did have both. My husband, who once again lugged far too much, was so impressed that he used the book this fall for our Mediterranean cruise and land tour. It made a huge difference! The system works, and that alone was worth the price of the book for me. I also found the money matters chapter invaluable, as I took it with me to the Mediterranean. (It was worth the space!) There's nothing more disconcerting than being unsure of how to pay for cabs, meals, etc. This chapter left me far more prepared for the nuances of foreign ATMs, and where to get the best exchange rates. Buy this book and take it along..you won't regret it.

I'm a travel writer and I created the CruiseDiva.com web site to share my personal packing lists. Packing for a cruise is different than for any other vacation style because of suggested dress codes. Some of the questions I receive most often are, "How formal IS formal?" and "What's 'smart casual' anyway?" Then there is the matter of how to pack wrinkle-free, which luggage to pack your wardrobe in, and all the little details that can make or break your trip. While I have my packing system pretty well in hand, I'm always open to new ideas and suggestions. It was my recent good fortune to read Smart Packing for Today's Traveler.

Even an old hand at cruise travel (or travel in general) can certainly learn new tricks and Susan has every one of them covered in her book. She even includes a beautifully illustrated "Packing for a Cruise" section. Susan outlines "layering" for climate changes, takes the worry out of security and health issues, and so much more. Don't just take my word for it, though. Read the sample pages of her book and you'll see how useful it truly is. Susan Foster is the PACKING DIVA! I can't recommend her book strongly enough.

Naturally Fit: You can Get in Shape and Stay in Shape by working out at home and walking

Naturally Fit: You can Get in Shape and Stay in Shape by working out at home and walkingWalter Walter has hit a home run in his latest book.

The man with the plan is Walter Walter, who is a fitness enthusiast and scientist. I read his The Chemistry of Food and Weight Loss Book too.

It appears he is specializing in basic information for those that are starting out with fitness and weight loss as Naturally Fit is a very good but very basic book. I would like for him to do a more advance book on the topic.

In any case, I believe he has a knack of breaking stuff down to make sense to a layman like me and he clearly employs simple thinking which I love! Overall I am pleased especially with the walking section so I will recommend this book.

The main idea behind this book is that getting fit does not have to require intricate exercise routines or strenuous workouts at a gym. We all have the capacity to stay fit naturally the way nature intended us to by using our own bodies.

This is another simple book by Walter Walter that I enjoyed. There is something to be said about reading basic information that actually works. Will share my copy of this book and offer advice to my friends so I'm not selling this one back to amazon.

A Woman's Decision: Breast Care, Treatment & Reconstruction (Quality Medical Home Health Library)

A Woman's Decision: Breast Care, Treatment & ReconstructionThere are many, many books out there dealing with breast cancer and treatment but this was the only one I could find that really helps a woman decide what course to take if she thinks she wants to have reconstructive surgery. I found it so helpful I recommended it to my doctor.Making a decision to have reconstructive surgery is hard enough, but then you have to decide what type you would like to have, what your choices are depending on your type of cancer and treatment, and, when to have the surgery.Especially helpful are the black and white photos of the results of each type of operation as well as touching and honest real life descriptions of experiences by women who have had these types of surgeries.Having actually gone through a mastectomy with simultaneous "tram flap" reconstuction, I can attest to the accuracy of both the medical information and the emotional descriptions contained in the book.

My plastic surgeon gave me this book to read. It was the best book on breast cancer I've found, and I've built up quite a library lately. It aided me in my treatment decision as well as my reconstruction choice. It also explained my pathology report better than any of my doctors. A great book for any breast cancer patient or her family.

The diagnosis of Brest Cancer usually comes unexpected and is emotionally overwhelming. Decisions that will have a lifelong impact often need to be made within a short period of time. The authors explain in detail all the different screening options, the various treatment options at all stages of the desease, and, most important, surgical reconstructive procedures performed either in conjuntion with a mastectomy/lumptectomy or at a later time. Diagrams, drawings, and "before and after" pictures help to visualize the results of reconstructive surgery.

I did not particularly care for this book too broad and not easy to read too general.

Want A Woman's Decision: Breast Care, Treatment & Reconstruction (Quality Medical Home Health Library) Discount?

I had a bilateral mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction in May 2002. The decisions I had to make were agonizing. This book was the best I found on the subject, and I read and re-read the case histories that were closest to my own situation. The information proved to be accurate and gave me a realistic expectation of the process and the results. I recommend this book to anyone undergoing breast surgery, with or without reconstruction, as it covers a wide array of decisions that other women have made.

Escape To Paradise: Living & Retiring In Panama

Escape To Paradise: Living & Retiring In PanamaI enjoyed quickly reading through Richard's modest book. It provides a good general sense of what to consider if planning to move to a foreign country and specifically to the community around Boquete. This is one of two glaring problems with the book. First it only covers Boquete and omits any real discussion of anywhere else one might consider living in Panama. The second omission is any serious discussion of alternative countries in which to settle, in Latin America in countries including Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay where Americans have been moving and settling for quite some time, much less other countries in Central America.

It would be like writing a book on moving to the USA and then covering only Ventura, California, and left out the Rocky Mountain states, the Carolinas, or even northern California which only has the Napa wine country, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco Bay area, Monterey/Carmel, Palm Springs, and lots of other areas to consider. What struck me with the comments made by Richard was the lack of perspective on alternatives.

For example in the community of Boguete he mentions that it takes more than 6 hours to drive to the nearest hospital. For him this is perfectly reasonable. Apparently unknown to Richard is that one can live almost anywhere in Costa Rica and be less than 2 hours from a hospital and for 70% of the areas where gringos are settling there is a top rated hospital within 60 minutes or less drive time.

Flying in or out of Panama means using the airport at Panama City which is a 6-7 hour drive from Boquete which makes going in or out of the country a multi-day affair as does going to the capital on business. Contrast that with a drive time of 1-3 hours for most destinations in Costa Rica and going in and out of the country or going to the capital to conduct business or just to do shopping at the discount hypermarkets are going to be very different experiences.

What is not apparent in reading Richard's book is to what extent he spent any time traveling around countries other than Panama in Latin America before making his decision to move to Boquete. In planning where I want to spend my retirement I am investing the time and money to go to multiple countries and travel around for weeks at a time and get knowledge to add to what I get from books, websites, and the experiences of friends and business associates.

I like Richard's overall perspective about living in a foreign country but I would not recommend his approach that is a little too analytical and does not provide adequate weight to many factors I would expect many people would consider important, like access to medical care, hospitals, goods, and services. An MBA inspired spreadsheet is of very limited value as the appraisal is basically a compilation of subjectively evaluated perceptions on aspects like the relative "stability" of the government which means determining the stability of Panama and all the other governments of the western hemisphere.

I would also want to spend a month traveling around the country and checking out as many locations as possible before settling down into one particular town in one corner of the country. As difficult as it is to move and settle down and possible buy land and build your own home it would be wise to try to avoid doing it twice. Most of the people who have written books on retiring in Costa Rica first built or bought homes along the ocean and then moved to the cooler inland highland plateau areas (which also provide better access to goods, services, and hospitals).

It is not a bad book but it could have been much better and should have been for the price. I found the same information, often of little interest, repeated multiple times in the book and with no new information or perspective provided with each retelling. For someone who has spent so much time in university classrooms it is also strange that the concept of a lead in sentence followed by additional sentences that support the first is not actually done within the book. A more critical editor would have helped greatly.

One example is the repeated references to the Empera native tribal members which may be of interest at a cultural anthropological point of view but has no bearing on a "European" or North American moving to Panama and taking up residence. The context is hard to see.

Richard makes the provocative statement that he wishes he had taken more of his tools when moving his household goods to Panama. And he leaves it at that. At first I thought, this is helpful, but then I realized that he had provided no information as to why he regrets not taking more of his tools with him or which tools. Big difference between wishing you had your former metal lathe or table saw and wishing you had your assortment of pipe wrenches or woodworking tools. What could have been a very informative paragraph dies on the page.

Richard is a good writer and one can only hope that he updates this book with a critical eye as to how to provide more information and provide a broader perspective. I suspect that like so many people before him he has spent a year or two settling in to his newly adopted country and then decides to write a book on his experiences. The difficult is in recalling all that transpired over that time and what mistakes were made and what would have been done instead with the aid of hindsight. I am sure that Christopher Howard with his books on Costa Rica and other countries in the area has worked hard to update and add to and edit his books to make them as good as they are today.

I've been following Richard's blog at for several months. You should sign up for his updates. His stories are always entertaining and educational about Panama. The more I learn about Panama, the more exciting it sounds.

Moving to another country is a big decision but Richard's book helps you think through all the benefits of moving to Panama.

Get Escape to Paradise! It is a GREAT book and the best information I have found anywhere about relocating to Panama

Why Panama? The cost of living is much cheaper, 1st class health care costs 80% less than North America, the food is better for you, the air is cleaner, you'll have less stress in your life because you're not worrying about money all the time, and from the photos I've seen Panama is breathtakingly beautiful.

The one comment hear from everyone who has moved to Panama is -they wish they had moved there sooner! Many report that they can live comfortably in Panama on their social security alone.

Thousands of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans have moved to Panama -i hope to be one of them soon.

Congratulations on a fantastic book Richard!

My husband and I both enjoyed this book immensely! We made the move ourselves to Boquete, Panama six years ago. If ONLY we had had this book to help prepare ourselves when we were first considering making the move!! The author tells you everything you need to know about what it's like to live here. We loved the way he included his own experiences in the telling. It made it ever so much more personal and interesting to us. If you have any thoughts about finding your own paradise, and particularly finding your paradise, as we and the author did, here in Boquete, Panama, you MUST buy this book!!

The book had a lot of really great and practical information. We are planning on "retiring" abroad for a multitude of reasons, many of which were mentioned by Richard as his reasons. I really enjoyed making the list of 15 things we wanted in our place of residence. Great exercise!

This has honestly been more helpful to me than any other ex-pat book I have picked up. The real costs of things like health care, electricity and so on. I would have liked more information on other areas, but since Richard lives in Boquete this is his area of expertise.

My only criticism is much of the information gets repeated 3 or more time throughout the book. I feel this is the editors shortfall more than the author. But clearly I am not a writer..

Richard really hit the nail....of all places...on the head !!

Of all the articles and books I RESEARCHED...this one tells it like it really is, with no personal axes to grind. Even tho Richard has obviously been in Panama for quite some time his approach is current. His answers are to questions that the other literature I read failed to ask....much less answer!

Not only that, his approach is far from lofty or detached...it's like you're both sittin' at the breakfast table sharing conversation....with a little wit here and an off hand comment there. None of it a waste, but a nice easy way to give the info YOU'RE interested in !!

Oh....and there are a few little cliff hangers...like what is the meaning of Boquete in _________....well I don't want to spoil it !!

Not that I'm the expert all of a sudden....but we have been there a several times, have bought our land, have a great architect, and are headin' that way really soon !

101 Nights of Grrreat Sex: Secret Sealed Seductions for Fun-Loving Couples

101 Nights of Grrreat Sex: Secret Sealed Seductions for Fun-Loving CouplesIf I could give this book 10 stars I would. My husband and I have had this book for 5 months and has been a TREMENDOUS help. We have been together for 5 years and you could set a schedule and a stop watch to our romantic life. Some of things we were told to do are things we've done before, but the book put a twist on them and made them fresh and exciting. Other things were things we would of never thought or dared to do, but we committed to do whatever we picked, and boy was it worth it! It's like we're having a hot and steamy affair with eachother. I have recommended this book to all of my friends and even my mom. Save the pages, because you can always use them again. When we got this book we had two boys and I was 7 months pregnant. Anybody can make the time.

I bought the book for my husband as a sort of practical joke, but BOY! was I suprised. Not only are the ideas for seduction original, but they are easy to accomplish and really a lot of fun! I recommend this book to anyone who wants to add that bit of pizazz back in their sex lives. It really leaves you with an undying sense of anticipation, and also allows you to shed your inhibitions. An excellent choice! Go for it, and have the best and most creative sex of your life!

...The premise of the book is that both the man & the woman open sealed pages instructing them to do something different, unusual, romantic or kinky. THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.

If you are in a healthy relationship, are open-minded, are romantic & open & expressive to your mate, and already enjoy a variety of positions, then don't buy it. Its just that simple.

Not everyone is terribly creative. Not everyone has the guts to do what they can think of. Sometimes they're find but they fear their partner won't "go for it". Some people aren't able to express their love outwardly. And sometimes relationships go stale. Sometimes people are so busy that they fail to make time for themselves, their spouses or the things they love & enjoy.

This doesn't make you a bad person...it just means you need either a) ideas, or b) guts to do it. This book is for you then.

It has the potential to get you and your partner to try new things, or do old things in a new way. Despite the pre-planning aspect, it will help you be more spontaneous. it'll motivate you to try that thing you always wanted to do but were maybe nervous about suggesting.

One note: don't expect 101 nights. it gives each partner one concept per week (52 x 2 = 101). Some require a lot of pre-planning & you might not have time. A handful involving pornography which may turn off religious types. Several involve a high degree of expensive ($100+. Some simply wont work unless you live in a large house or apartment. Having young kids could definately interfere with some concepts. Some concepts just seemed silly...

Despite these problems, I would say most people could do 80% or more of the concepts. My wife & I enjoyed it greatly, and obviously so have many others who bought this book. As long as you understand whether this book is for you or not, then you should be satisifed with this book.

I'm 29, have been married 10 years, and have 5 children. 101 Nights is great fun for my husband and me. We already have a very loving and fun relationship, but the stresses and responsibilities of our daily life often impede our spontenaity and creativity in bed. The assignments and games in this book have motivated us to keep improving the sexual part of our relationship.

Even if you think you've BTDT, the anticipation of presenting a special treat to your spouse is arousing, and being on the receiving end of those treats is very affirming (not to mention satisfying ;)

We have opted not to do some of the ideas because they aren't appropriate for us, but most are great and the book has been well worth the money.
