The Biggest Loser Fitness Program: Fast, Safe, and Effective Workouts to Target and Tone Your Troubl

The Biggest Loser Fitness Program: Fast, Safe, and Effective Workouts to Target and Tone Your Trouble Spots--Adapted from NBC's Hit Show!I bought this book after having read the original "biggest loser" book. and i STRONGLY recommend buying them together. especially if you are just starting out. this book is as it says a "fitness book." it does not provide all the inspiring stories of the people on the show, and all the helpful information to start you out like the other one does. This book does provide you with several new exercises to add to your circuit to provide you with variety so you don't get bored. I have lost 51 pounds since september following their exercise program (not even following it exactly, but closely) and following the nutritional guidelines and suggestions they give. i feel great, and i have been able to try several new activities and been surprised by my ability to do them. These two books are the best purchases i have made for myself in years. Bob is such an inspirational trainer. and i can't wait to see what the next 12 weeks brings :o)

This book is great. It was much more detailed than the others. I felt like I was reading exactly how the contestants on "The Biggest Loser" was losing all that weight. The book was detailed enough that as a Gym Manager, I am going to have a biggest loser contest of our own following this book to the letter! If you are looking for a complete program, or are someone whose fitness program has stalled, this book is for you! I look forward to posting our gym results in the near future to motivate even more of you!

As a certified personal trainer (NASM, ACSM and AFFA), with over 2000 hours of training, I thought I'd provide an industry professional's assessment. Since I'm not a registered dietician, I will leave the comments on the nuitrition part of the progam to those more qualified than myself.

The exercise program is based on a Circuit Training format. Circuit training excels at burning calories and increasing muscle endurance. It is NOT the best program for building muscle mass. Also, be aware that according the General Law of Adaptation, the human body will adapt to the program in 6-to-8 weeks and start burning less calories. In other words, when a reader has plateaued, the reader will need to change his or her exercise program.

Also, in order to build muscle mass a person needs to ingest more calories than that person is burning off. Muscle cannot be built on negative calories!

With those observations aside, the book does an excellent job of explaining and illustrating thier fitness program. I especially liked photos of the exercises in the program section of the book. When I'm working with a new client, especially one with little or no experience in weight training, I spend a lot of time coaching and explaining exercises.

Found this greatly informative and accurate. I go to a personal trainer once a week and all the moves I have learned so far are in this book. There is no reason why you can't get fit at home. I go to the trainer for motivation and how to do moves correctly but this book sustains me during the week. It is a great price and worth the money.

This was a great book with lots of good advice. If you are serious about getting fit, this is an easy to follow program that will get you results with little equipment.

The only thing I thought could've been better organized about the book itself was the actual suggested routines. They are separated beginner, intermediate, advanced workout 1, then they start over for workout 2 and again for 3. I thought if you are a beginner, all 3 workouts should be grouped together, the the intermediate, then advanced. Also, I thought these pages should've come as a pullout poster or something. It is sort of hard to remember what to do without the book right there in front of you. Those are the only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Pretty Plus: How to Look Sexy, Sensational, and Successful, No Matter What You Weigh

Pretty Plus: How to Look Sexy, Sensational, and Successful, No Matter What You WeighFabulous book!!Thankfully an author with knowledge AND understanding of the plus size woman who is willing to share it, no judgments, just good sound advice for looking great every time you dress. The guidance Babe Hope offers is invaluable. By referring to the Plus Size woman as a "Diamond", made me feel beautiful throughout my reading & prevented me from demoralizing judgments I make regarding myself.

Love this book!!! I'm a plus size professional who is always on the go. This book was a quick read with a common sense approach to the everyday needs of the plus size women. Babe addresses all shapes and sizes and gives problem solving suggestions. This book gives down to earth ideas that aren't extra cost to the pocket book. In fact this book can save you money because you learn what to buy that is right for you. Thanks Babe

I have probably purchased every book of this ilk that is on the market. Surprisingly, this turned out to be one of my favorites! The author has the honest "voice" of a long time close friend, which made the book a very pleasant and enjoyable read. I found every chapter to offer me sound, easy-to-follow advice. My only regret was that it didn't provide more illustrations of her suggestions.

If you have never read this sort of book, you will find some really good suggestions. But then, you probably wouldn't be looking at this review then, would you? People reading here have almost certainly read more than one book about dressing well and looking good for overweight women. This book literally has nothing new, and worse than that, the author tends to mistake the gems she has learned that work for HER with general principles we all could benefit from. She does make an attempt to address different body proportions, but it's not very deep or useful. It is sometimes difficult to read because the author is not a graceful writer and hasn't had the benefit of good editing. It's not illiterate--don't get me wrong--just awkward.

Most of the advice in this slim volume is valid, but similar to that offered elsewhere, i.e., What Not to Wear. Was disappointed that the book featured a whole chapter for petites but not one sentence for tall women. Am truly excited to explore the recommendations for best brands from the Appendix. Also was glad to read the discussion of and recommendations for footwear.
