Homeopathy, Sweet Homeopathy: Coming home to perfect health

Homeopathy, Sweet Homeopathy: Coming home to perfect healthI highly recommend reading Homeopathy, Sweet Homeopathy to others who are interested in pursuing Homeopathic treatments. The book is written with the layman in mind so everyone can gain more knowledge and understanding of Homeopathy. The explanation is simple yet very informative and the case studies clearly indicate how successful Homeopathy can be to obtain ultimate health.

The author of the book, Mr. Pierre Fontaine is highly experienced in his field. We are fortunate to have him as our Homeopath and have been looking forward for this book for a long time. This is the first book that actually takes the reader inside the consultation room as it relates each case. That is highly beneficial since it provides each person with a much better understanding about how Homeopathy works.

Thank you Mr. Fontaine for all your work.

Homeopathy, Sweet Homeopathy opens the door to the best understanding of what homeopathy is, how it works and why it works that I have read. Fontaine has a perspective on the practice of homeopathy that clearly moves achieving wellness into a realm we can all understand and attain.

The book explains homeopathy in a way anyone can fully grasp. It then follows with a number of case studies demonstrating Fontaine's skills in using a carefully honed approach to determining an individual's case history and then suggesting the ideal remedy to achieve optimal constitutional health.

Homeopathy may well be the most effective way available to achieve an ideal healthy state.

Buy the book! You won't be disappointed.

We have an appointment with Mr. Fontaine for our son and thought we should probably read one of his books. We were pleased to read how he conducts his initial interviews and what his thought process is behind it. He also provides a great explanation of what homeopathy is and isn't. I've struggled in the past on how to explain it to family and friends, but now it is easier.

Uninformed Consent : The Hidden Dangers in Dental Care

Uninformed Consent : The Hidden Dangers in Dental CareA great book written by two very intelligent and "open minded" doctors. Dr. Thomas Levy's story lead me to taking a more pro-active position with my dental revision. I already knew about the devastating effects of my "silver fillings" and I had some knowledge about root canals. However, his story took me to the next level of action...removal of my two root canals. And yes, just like Dr. Huggins and Dr. Levy mention in the book, they were infected and a source of slow and constant poisoning of my body. I owe the a debt of graditute for their courage to speak out about yet another atrosity in dentistry.

They also go into detail about many other sources of mercury...eye contact lens solution, contraceptives, vaccines, seafood, etc.

If you want to know why we are getting sicker and sicker in this country, then you need to read this book.

This book focuses in more detail on the issue of dental induced toxicity. The book is well written and an absolute must for anyone suffering from any vague, unresponsive illness. This book also sends shock-waves through the standard medical dogma of what constitutes "incurables," in that case after case of serious medical diseases were reversed after removing mercury amalgams from patient's mouths. The book is co-written by a physician, who's own health benefits were revealed after he underwent dental detox. His account will amaze the nay-sayers and awaken the nearly dead from mercury toxicity. I am a suffering, long-term toxic reader, and I saw myself in every painful agonizing detail of mercury's wretched effect on once healthy tissue. I have undergone surgery because of its twisted devastating blows, and am certain the grim reaper was riding mercury's coattails. Even if you don't believe that you're being bombarded with deadly poison while reclining in the dentist's chair, read the book. You may save the life of someone you love, maybe even yourself.

Buy Uninformed Consent : The Hidden Dangers in Dental Care Now

Something I did not know (and which the authors expose) is that dentists as a professsion have the highest suicide rate. It is because, they argue convincingly, dentists spend decades dealing with mercury, a deadly neuro-toxin, which collects in their brains. Although they don't comment on it, this is where the old expression, "Mad as a hatter" came from: in the past hatters became insane because they used mercury in their job. The average dental amalgam is 50% mercury: this is the poison the ADA claims is safe and allows dentists to place inches from peoples' brains? Europe is far ahead of us in this regard; mercury fillings are now illegal. The list of diseases improved or cured by removal of fillings is astonishing. The authors list case after case. Schopenhauer made the comment that ideas are first ridiculed, then violently opposed, then accepted as self-evident. I wonder how many years it will take before the dangers of these fillings will be accepted as self-evident.

Dr. Huggins graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Dentistry in 1962 and received a master of science degree from the University of Colorado in 1989. He is no quack, he is a crusader for health.

There is abundant scientific evidence that amalgam fillings are a danger to health. Dental amalgam is 50% mercury. Mercury is the most toxic metal known to man. Just look at the information from The International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology at .

Also consider that the Swedish Dental Material Commission recommended that amalgam be banned in 2002 download the report from . They commented that "The use of amalgam has been identified as the single largest source of mercury in sewage sludge, and crematoria are a large source of emissions to air in Sweden.". So how the hell does mercury get into people's faeces without passing through the body first ?

Dentists who deny that amalgam is harmful are either ignoramuses or liars it's really that simple. They lie because they do not want to get served with class action lawsuits from all the people made sick from their amalgam fillings. That's the same reason why the governments stand by the dentists (Sweden excepted).

This is written particularly in response to Kavity Killer's party-line review of this book:

I have been directly involved in clinical dentistry for over 40 years. Quackwatch is full of beans on this matter, as they are on many other issues as well. They are backed by the AMA and ADA, etc, so know that there are a lot of god-like egos on the line here. Many mistakes have been made by AMA/ADA members and to be exposed would be a huge loss of face, not to mention the astronomical costs of potential litigation and case settlements. They do NOT want to go there! Sadly, our cultural worship of material success has led to a level of greed that trumps the oath to "First do no harm." It didn't just happen over-night. The AMA/ADA has been in bed with the Pharmeceutical industry for at least 50 years. The trickle-down effect this had on individual doctors and dentists was slower in developing, but has seriously infiltrated the general ranks in medical and dental schools, and private practices over the past 20-25 years. Many health professionals DO continue to fight this trend, but Pharma has enormous financial resources [ie, power] and the greed-based commercialization of US Healthcare is the result we all suffer. The problems are insidious as in many instances, Pharma susidizes entire hospitals, medical schools, and research programs, as well as many of the doctors who write medical textbooks. Consequently, their own products and protocols become the de facto treatments that all health professionals learn before they ever even see their first patients! Not to mention Pharma's infiltration into the FDA, with the subsequent "fast-tracking" of questionable drugs into the marketplace and into our bodies. I could go on and on with my insider's view of this but I am getting off-track on the subject of this book. So, moving on...

Please. Read this book if you want to get a more realistic idea of what all the brain-washed dentists and doctors DON'T want you to know. Also, understand that most of them are basically good people, but facing the real mistakes they have made as a result of their commercial indoctrination is overwhelming... emotionally, it is a very bitter pill to swallow. There is a strong element of betrayal and shame in this situation, and doctors and dentists are not going to be quick in accepting responsibility for the harm they've done when they realize that their own lack of due diligence [and disinterest] has made them culpable...and not merely victims or pawns of the "machine."

I have seen all of this up close and personal with numerous dentists. Dentists/doctors have also become accustomed--obviously--to a certain lifestyle as well as the respect their professions have brought them. Tie that in with the pressure of their spouses and children, who expect that privileged lifestyle to continue. Their identities have become completely entwined with their public images within their communities and with their peers. They [can] feel quite fearful and threatened by exposes such as this book and then do nothing except try to push it all under the rug. Of course, at this point the shame only increases because NOW they are knowingly doing treatments that cause harm! They [can] become defensive and even belligerent in continuing to do root canals or prescribing toxic fluoride, all in an impotent effort to PRETEND it isn't so! This is not to say that every dentist or doctor would react in this way, but the situation does create a form of psychological stress which even highly-trained "professionals" are NOT equipped to handle...without considerable professional help. Altogether, a very complex conundrum!

For those dentists and doctors who are not so exclusively identified with their job titles and professional egos, the road ahead is much simpler. They willingly take responsibility and do their own research into these very real medical issues, as did Drs Weston Price, George Meinig, and Hal Huggins, etc.

Our entire Healthcare system is in a serious crisis, and it is a crisis which impacts every single one of us. We all need to support radical reforms. "Privatization" is NOT the solution. Big Pharma can quietly buy out and incorporate any such ventures into its own greed-based game plan. In this situation, we need our Government to actually govern...to drop all partisan posturing and actually make use of its size to break the hold these monster corporations have on the people and soul of this country. In such an environment, the kind of valuable research that was done in "Uninformed Consent" or "Root Canal Cover-up" could be conducted with respect and support, rather than with accusations of quackery that are intended only to silence those who question the staus quo!

Sheesh!...hadn't intended to start waving the flag or anything...just thought I would say a few things to show the actual value of books like this one. I didn't know it was all going to strike such a "nerve"...ha-ha. In any case, critical transformations like those mentioned in this review will take time and the efforts of a population far less divided than we are now...or as conflicted as those dentists and doctors I've referred to above. Good luck to us.

I hope a few folks find this rambling "essay" to be useful in some way ;-)

Makeup Makeovers: Weddings: Stunning Looks for the Entire Bridal Party

Makeup Makeovers: Weddings: Stunning Looks for the Entire Bridal PartyThis book is not as detailed as his first book, Makeup Makeovers, but more of a compliment. This book focuses specifically on the Bride and Bridesmaids to create that picture-perfect look of timeless beauty for that Special Day. Stunning photographs with classic and timeless looks. A great inspiration for the novice and advance makeup artist. Get both of his books if you can afford to but if you have to choose one or the other, his first book is the best!

I have the author's book Makeup Makeovers, which I did like very much. However, this book is pretty much a rerun of the first. I did not learn anything new. Pictures are the same. And there are no pictures or discussion of the challenges of the mother of the bride, grandmother of the bride age group. I did learn if the bride's hair is up, the attendants hair should be down and to have the bride's lipstick in the groom's pocket. Those tips were not worth the price of the book. Buy one or the other, but you sure do not need both. I should have tried the library first.

I decided to do my own makeup for my wedding. My wedding pictures turned out great. My bridesmaids and I looked wonderful! The step by step instructions were easy and a lot of it applies to everyday makeup. The photographs in the book are beautiful as well. I am able to translate that to everyday looks and that makes it useful after the wedding.

Couples Therapy Homework Planner (PracticePlanners)

Couples Therapy Homework PlannerThis book an excellent tool for counselors involved in counseling couples. It has some great thought provoking assignments that the couple can do at home and then process in session. I feel that the homework presented in the planner will save the counselor time but also increase the counselor's knowledge of how to best help the couple.

I am a therapist and have found the handouts and activities in this book to be very helpful in my work with couples. You will particularly like these handouts if you prefer solution-focused or strategic therapy. Some of the activities require the clients to commit for more than an hour or day, but if the clients will do them, they will find them helpful. I like how the activities help the clients stop doing "more of the same" and start making small changes to their interactions; it also helps them focus more on the positive things occurring in their relationships.

I purchased this book with the Assignment's "disk" in August 2008. My computer is new technology and does not accomodate old technology, i.e. a diskette. I contacted the publisher John W. Wiley & Sons Inc., and requested they send a CD-ROM and they report that it has not been updated to CD-ROM as yet. I am appauled that they are selling old technology with their books! I expect to receive the new CD as soon as it is updated. Get with the times, guys. It's the 21st Century!!

Perfume Zodiac

Perfume ZodiacWhen considering perfumes it behooves one to develop a global strategy to characterizing them and putting them in to categories from which one may develop a sense to taste and the ability to choose with some discrimination. Unfortunately very few people have the money to survey perfumes to any degree, much less to a degree which allows putting them in groupings for particular uses, mindsets, or occasions.

This book offers a good enough starting point your astrological sign. At first I flinched from this notion because I am not a believer in astrology. I am nothing like a Libra, no matter how my stars are aligned in whatever salient or tangent or whatever.

But this book is funny and charming. It doesn't really drill home astrology, it merely attempts to set perfumes to certain character traits. And those character traits are well enough compartmentalized by the ideas inherent in the `signs' that it's no great concern if you find yourself attracted to the perfumes of the Scorpio when you are in fact a Pisces.

In other books this author has demonstrated understanding and taste where it comes to perfumes. I trust the author again. The perfumes selected for my sign were without a doubt adequate, thoughtful, and harmonized. I suspect the same would be true of the other 11 sets of perfumes but that is of no matter.

A Handbook of Native American Herbs (Healing Arts)

A Handbook of Native American HerbsI love this book, from its use of plant scetches to its easy to understand format, to the fact it is actually in alphabetical order. I have been studying the usage of herbs since I was 13, and of all my books on herbs this one by far is my best and most used.

I would recomend it as very practical for modern usage as it tells the Name, Offical name, features, medical parts, uses, doseage, etc. It is a must for an herbalists bookshelf or for those into native american plants and culture.

I liked this book, educating and very factual. I reference this book almost daily. Pictures of the plant it self are in drawing form making it easy to identify the plant in the field. Narrow and saddle-bag size. Wonderful!

This is a very interesting book to use and to study. You'll find all sorts of things you never knew before. Things that you'll be thankful you knew in the future. It's also a great reference book for natural cures and treatments to various minor (or major) medical situations.

It's easy to navigate, easy to read, and easy to get what you need or want to know from it quickly :) Fantastic book to read, especially if you live in the country, or the woods.

The American Indians had no SuperWalmart to run an buy some ibuprofan or aspirin at 10 o'clock at night. Oh, the pain, what would the do??? Why not chew on the bark of a white willow tree! This is a good book detailing over one hundred herbs commonly used by the American Indians for a variety of treatments. The book details the treatment, gives methods of application and a drawing. Would be better (but more expensive) with color pictures. Helpful to a degree, limited without enough scientific information for my own needs.

First of all, if you thought this book was referring to herbs used by Native Americans, you were right only to a very minor degree. The book is actually referring to herbs found and used in America. This includes all herbs, native or introduced. It reviews each herb, it's scientific name, and common names, a description of each, and their uses. Most uses are for "folk medicine", although clinical uses and their effects are also given. Doses are given in most instances.

ACSM's Exercise is Medicine™: A Clinician's Guide to Exercise Prescription

ACSM's Exercise is Medicineā„¢: A Clinician's Guide to Exercise PrescriptionACSM's Exercise is Medicine: A Clinician's Guide to Exercise Prescription packs in text to help clinicians learn how to motivate and educate patients on how to blend regular exercise into daily lives. The focus is on helping patients become and stay motivated: it covers how to design exercise programs to fit into lifestyle requirements and fitness levels as well as specialty needs, and is a top pick for any college-level medical library.

Although I'm not a physician, I read this book from cover to cover, and now I approach life and exercise in a wonderful new way. I've increased my morning exercise rituals, and as I go thru each day, lines from this book urge me to walk greater distances, and to think of new and exciting ways to bring exercise into my life. I'd like to see this in a form for the lay person so that I could give out copies to my folk dance, and square dance partners as well as all friends and family members. Congratulations to Edward Phillips and Steven Jonas.
