Pretty: The NYLON Book of Beauty

The book is a good skim at products that are classics and good representatives of a certain time period so you can go for that 'look.' No how-to's except a few pages at the end, which is only probably helpful for people who are already pretty adept with make-up.

This book is very simple and easily to follow. It illustrates different styles from the 1920s to the early 90s and provides simple tips on how to acquire trendy looks. There're all sorts of products featured in the book, but the good part is that product descriptions are no more than a couple of paragraphs long while the remainder of the page contains good quality photographs that perfectly portray the product being described. This is not an encyclopedia of fashion and beauty, but perfect for that someone who doesn't want to be bothered with going to great lengths for a couple of beauty tips.
