I admit that the main reason I purchased this book was for the recipes. Some of my family's favorites so far are: Sizzling Ginger Pork, Sweet Pepper-Chicken Sandwich, Berry-Licious Oatmeal, Banana Fudge Smoothie, Mexican Turkey Burgers, and My German Lover. Every recipe calls for readily available ingredients, the directions are simple to follow, and the results are delicious and healthy.I absolutely love ALL the Biggest Loser books! Yes, the info is the same as the previous ones before but basically, aren't they all?? There is nothing new or different about losing weight now, or in the past: get off your duff and exercise, choose healthier foods, eliminate sweets/sugar, drink lots of water...EVERY diet book says the same things; its just how it is packaged and said in a way that motivates YOU as the one reading it, to do it.That is why BL is so popular in the first place; the motivation they give the average person, is amazing.
The information is basic, honest and things we already know but need hearing again; the stories, pictures and lives of the former and current contestants are inspiring and motivating. The recipes are simple, easy and taste great! Banana fudge smoothie? Who wouldn't want to drink that? Yummm!! I just saw a review that said the recipes were too hard and that many of the ingredients most people don't have lying around the pantry or kitchen......Ummm, you mean salt? Pepper? Fruit? Oatmeal? Where do you live that you can't find that at a local supermarket or even Farmer's Market? And unless you are SUPER lazy, how can the recipes be too difficult? Really?
I can't wait til season 10 starts in a few months! The book is good, the recipes are good and for beginners, it is a great book to start out with to ease yourself into a new life of health and fitness.

My family and I have been following the food meals for a total of 3 weeks and the four of us (in-laws, husband and myself) have lost 32.5 lbs all together thus far. The meals can seem a bit pricey but once you do the math of how much you would pay by going out, it is actually better. It does take a bit of time to cook and pack but it has been worth it for our family!I read the book and believe the information is very interesting and informative, I am a little frustrated in the fact that from day to day I have to purchase another grocery list of items to prepare a new soup or meal and I have a tone of ingredients left over that just seem to go to waist, I feel like it is a waist of groceries and is expensive, I was really excited to start this and get on a biggest loser plan but financially it is really not feesable for me, I guess I will follow the instructions and try to incorporate the meal plans in more than just one day. This book is full of detailed instructions and photographs of exercises that will help get you into shape.Each of the delicious recipes are accompanied by color photographs. The week-by-week menu plan is incredibly informative.
There are tips throughout the book from contestants and trainers.
