This book is absolutely wonderful for every household with children. This book was a gift from my pediatric RN nurse mother and it has come in handy multiple times. I've used it a dozen times as a reference and my child is 5 months old. Being a new mom, I tend to ask my mom, the doctor, and look in this book anytime I have a question about my child's health. All three of my references are always the same. The book lays out when to call 911, when to call the doctor right away, when to call within 24 hours, and when to treat at home. It is written by Barton Schmitt, who also wrote the book on pediatric protocols (along with American Academy of Pediatrics). This book will become a staple as a baby shower gift because its so valuable particularly to new mothers like me.
