Beauty and the Beam: Your Complete Guide to Cosmetic Laser Surgery (Quality Medical Home Health Libr

Beauty and the Beam: Your Complete Guide to Cosmetic Laser SurgeryFirst of all, I found this book very well-written-it is practical and down to earth, gives you clear descriptions of several kinds of procedures for laser surgery (hair-removal, smoothing wrinkles, helping spider-web veins etc) and also has a nice sense of humor at times. I love that the authors give you pros and cons, actual cost ranges, things to watch for and anecdotes. It was interested to read about someone who had a birthmark removed, for instance, or a tattoo removed and then re-created (with the guy's current wife's name!) Some of the stories are touching, some are more light-hearted, all gave it a human touch.

I am no scientist but I also appreciated reading about some of the scientific and medical aspects of these procedures. For anyone considering any kind of voluntary laser surgery, this book is really a must-have and a wonderful resource. I'd recommend it to any friend or family member who was thinking about beautifying with laser-and I have to admit it definitely interested me in some of the procedures. Now I feel like I know better what to expect!

Another great book by Joan Swirsky. Beauty and the Beam was very informative. It answered all of my questions about laser and cosmetic surgery.
