One does suppose you would have to at least tolerate garlic in order to like this book; if you love garlic you will love it. The history of garlic is given and the many amazing medicinal properties of garlic are described. There are some recipes. The one for Anna's sauce is marvelous. The recipe for whole-hog potatoes is also wonderful. There are no pictures with the few recipes that are in here. There is a subject index and a recipe index.The descriptions of growing garlic might encourage you to try to do it too. It will at least make you aware of what you are buying in the future.
This is a book for those who love garlic or want to learn more about this fascinating ingredient both its history and its use today.
