Toning for Teens: The 20-Minute Workout that Makes You Look Good and Feel Great!

Toning for Teens: The 20-Minute Workout that Makes You Look Good and Feel Great!I bought the "Toning for Teens" book back in February. I started working out on Feburary 15th, using the exercises in the book. It is now May 14th, and I have gone down 2 sizes, and still am getting smaller! Everyone is noticing the difference! This book is amazing!

This book is what teens need: a simple, effective, and non-time consuming workout. It alternates upper and lower body to let muscles revive from the previous day's workout, and includes AWESOME diet tips, detailed exercise info, reasons why you should exercise and myths explained.

If you're having trouble getting through this workout, start easy and build up. For the first week, I did it without weights to learn the movements. And if it's taking any longer than 30 minutes for you, it's probably because you're just beginning and you're taking the time to flip pages, rest a little longer, and make sure you're doing each exercise correctly. Once you have it down, the upper body part (at least) should take only 20 minutes. The lower's harder for me, so it takes longer.

This book is inspirational and it works! I'm in my second week and I can tell a difference already! Plus it's easy and cheap to do at home, requiring minimal space and a few inexpensive dumbbells. Try it, you'll see!

This book has helped me out a lot! Just to add a point, for all the people that are saying that the diet part of this book isn't good for you at all, it actually is...if you're a person over weight. The books states in the beginning that you should only do the exercises if you aren't over weight. If you are over weight try the exercises and do the diet plans.

It was very easy for me to follow and the pictures were great! If you want to tone your body and/or lose weight...this is the right book for you!

I brought this book home from the library about two weeks ago mostly out of cuoriosity. It was easy to start, my dad already had a workout bench in his office and I bought a pair of 2lb weights to start off.I'm not overweight, but I noticed a huge diffrence after two weeks on the program. I have more energy, and I catch myself wishing my father would hurry up and finish working so I can do my toning.

While I found the actual workout easy to follow and challenging, the diet advice brought me to an unhealthful physical and mental state. The guide suggests 15-20 grams of fat each day, while the FDA recommends 65 grams. For many smaller teens, 15-20 might be ideal. For others, it is a starvation diet. When I followed her advice (I am 15), I started daydreaming about food constantly, my metabolic rate slowed, and I eventually fainted due to malnourishment.

She also does not differentiate between so-called good and bad fats. Avocados and nuts contain good fats (polyunsaturated, monounsaturated, and Omega 3), yet she lists them as unhealthful, lumped into a category with foods that contain saturated and trans (bad) fats.

Her autobiographical sketch discloses the source of her nutritional ignorance. She has a PHD, but in what? Probably English, because she claims she was once an English Teacher, and she does not list any actual credentials in the fields of Exercise and Health.

This book presents a significant danger and should be taken off the shelves.
