Excellent book, great to start out with but I don't fully agree with all of the author's business approaches. Especially if you want to open up multiple offices. I do suggest the read, it is straight forward and has the essentials you need to know. Well worth it.

I am in the midst of starting my own PT practice. I had a few questions about insurance, and a few other particulars about starting this type of company. This book was very helpful, very informative, and gave a lot of references of where to go to get information. I read other reviews saying it wasn't a good "marketing" book, or the book seemed like the author was trying to talk you out of openning your own PT practice, but its not a marketing book and the author is just preparing you for possible pit-falls of the business. Excellent book if you are thinking of starting your own PT practice, I got a lot of valuable info out of it!!

I purchased this book for the intent of helping me write a business plan. The book is quite useful for the purpose of starting a physical therapy business. It contains helpful service benchmarks and loads of patient forms and examples of important documents needed in preparing your business plan. I would not recommend the book if you're interested in management tips; it is geared primarily for start-ups or new businesses. Very well written and easy to understand.
